Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income
We treat the games we offer as a form of entertainment and nothing more. Outcomes are random, the odds favour the house over time, and no system, staking pattern or run of play changes that. Money you spend with us should be money you are comfortable losing, in the same way you would treat the cost of an evening out.
Deciding on a budget before you play is the most useful habit a player can have. Choose the amount you can afford over a week or a month, decide how much time you want to give it, and use the tools in your account to hold yourself to both figures. If gambling stops being fun, or becomes a way to make money or to cope with stress, debt or low mood, it is time to stop and take stock.
In practice, our commitment to you means the following.
- Deposit, loss and session limits are available on every account, free of charge, without you having to ask us first.
- We act on any limit, time-out or self-exclusion request promptly, and we never ask you to justify it.
- We stop sending marketing to any player who has taken a break, self-excluded or asked us not to contact them.
- Our support team is trained to recognise the signs of gambling harm and to discuss them calmly and without judgement.
- We hold a gaming licence and we verify the age and identity of every customer, so that only adults play with us.
The tools in your account and how to switch them on
Every tool below sits in the safer gambling area of your account, alongside the cashier. You can set, tighten or cancel most of them yourself at any time, and our support team will set anything up on your behalf if you prefer.
| Tool | What it does | When it takes effect |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps the total you can pay in over a day, a week or a month. | Straight away when tightened |
| Loss limit | Caps your net losses over the period you choose. | Straight away when tightened |
| Session limit | Ends your play once the length of session you set has run out. | Your next session |
| Reality check | Shows an on-screen reminder of how long you have been playing. | Straight away |
| Time-out | Locks your account for a short, fixed break from play. | Straight away |
| Self-exclusion | Closes your account to play for a longer fixed period, chosen from the options shown. | Straight away |
Deposit, loss and session limits
A deposit limit is the simplest way to keep spending predictable: once you reach the figure you have set, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets. A loss limit works on your net position rather than your deposits, and a session limit governs time rather than money. You can run all three at once, and the limits shown in your account always apply in full.
Reality checks
A reality check interrupts play at the interval you choose and tells you how long you have been in the session. It is a prompt to pause, look at your balance and decide whether to carry on or close the game.
Time-outs
A time-out is a short cooling-off break. While it is running you cannot deposit or play, although you can still sign in to see your history and withdraw any balance you hold. Once a time-out has started we cannot lift it early, so please choose a length you are content with.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a longer, firmer break. We close your account to play for the period you select, cancel marketing contact and take reasonable steps to prevent you opening a new account with us. At the end of the period the exclusion does not lift automatically: you must contact us, and a further cooling-off period applies before play can resume.
- Sign in and open the safer gambling section of your account.
- Choose the tool you want and the period it should cover.
- Enter the amount, length of time or interval you are comfortable with.
- Confirm your choice. A new or tighter limit applies immediately.
- If you later ask to raise or remove a limit, the request is held for a cooling-off period before it can take effect, and you can cancel it at any point in the meantime.
Signs that gambling may be causing harm
Gambling harm builds gradually, and it is easier to spot in habits than in a single session. Go through the checklist below honestly.
- You spend more than you planned, or more than you can comfortably afford.
- You play for longer than you intended and lose track of the time.
- You deposit again to win back what you have lost.
- You borrow money, sell belongings or use bills money to keep playing.
- You hide how much you play, or how much you spend, from people close to you.
- You gamble to escape boredom, stress, loneliness or low mood.
- You neglect work, study, family or sleep because of gambling.
- You feel anxious, irritable or guilty when you are not playing, or after you have played.
Where to get free, confidential help
The following organisations are independent of us and their services cost you nothing. You can also ask our support team to set up any tool on your account while you decide what else to do.
- GambleAware is a charity that funds free treatment and prevention work across Great Britain and publishes clear, practical information about gambling and the harm it can cause.
- GamCare provides free counselling and treatment for anyone affected by gambling, including partners, family members and friends, and operates the National Gambling Helpline.
- The National Gambling Helpline is open every day and offers confidential one-to-one advice by telephone or online chat, with referrals to local treatment where you want them.
- GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme for Great Britain: a single registration blocks you from every gambling site and app licensed here, including ours, for the period you choose.
If money worries are part of the picture, free debt advice services and your bank can help: many banks allow you to block gambling payments on your card, and that block sits outside our control, which makes it harder to reverse on impulse.
Protecting children and other people in your household
Nobody under 18 may open an account, deposit or play with us. We carry out age and identity verification before play, and we repeat those checks where anything about an account suggests they are needed. If we find that an underage person has gambled with us, we close the account, void the play and return deposits, while any winnings are withheld.
Your account is personal to you, so please keep your log-in details private and never save your password on a device that other people use. If you share a computer, tablet or phone with children, parental control and website-blocking software can restrict access to gambling sites, and most devices and browsers also offer built-in family settings and separate user profiles.
If you believe a minor has had access to your account, contact us by e-mail at support@casino-rose.co.uk or through the live chat on the site, and we will secure the account while the matter is looked into.
